WritersGroup.co.uk brings those useful things together. You’ll find daily prompts, practical writing tools, online Writing Rooms, events, resources and opportunities to write alongside other people.

Who it’s for

It’s for fiction writers, poets, memoirists, essayists, readers, returners, beginners, experienced writers and people with half-finished projects sitting in a folder somewhere.

We care about craft, but also about turning up, making progress, reading widely and finding ways to keep writing when life is busy. You don’t need to live near Portishead or belong to a formal group to use the site.

The project began with local writers’ and reading-group meetings in Portishead. Those remain an important part of it, but the website is being built for a much wider community.
